The Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial in Boise, Idaho, USA and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum in Phnom Penh, Cambodia are both members in the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience. "Words Have Weight" showcases both Sites and the power of language in uniting - and dividing - the community.
On a trip to Cambodia with the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights Pedals and Packs program, in March 2018, our guide took us on an adventure where we learned how to catch tarantulas, how to cook them, and what the benefits are to eating tarantulas, scorpions, and other local foods.
In March of 2018, 16 volunteers from Boise, Idaho traveled to Cambodia with the Pedals and Packs program, hosted by The Wassmuth Center for Human Rights, to deliver 200 bicycles and backpacks to promote continuing education for elementary school children. This project is in support of equal education around the world.
Already an established hairstylist, GiGi opened the BENCH salon & gifts in August of 2015. Since then, she has seen numerous clients, opened her salon to local artists, started sharing her space with her husband Tony, The Beard Mechanic, and became the president of the Vista Bench Business Association. This is GiGi's fresh start.
